What's Next on PREVIMER website?
Many evolutions of the website are planned to improve PREVIMER services.
They concern forecast types, geographic areas, information display modes, access to observation data, ...
Types of Forecasts
- Phytoplankton production in the Bisquay Bay (available since July 2007) ;
- Macroalgae production in Brittany (June 2008) ;
- Water Turbidity data in South Brittany (measure system late 2007, forecast 2009).
Geographic Areas
- English Channel, South Brittany, Basque country: wave forecasts (available since July 2007) ;
- Normandy, North Brittany, Arcachon basin: sea water level and current forecasts (available since July 2007) ;
- English Channel and North Sea: sea water level, current and temperature forecasts (late 2007) ;
Display Modes
- Dynamic zoom, interactive colour palette modification, punctual forecast value display in forecasts graphics (late 2008).
Access to observation and modelisation data
- Visualisation of observed High Frequency Radar surface current in Iroise sea (late 2007) ;
- Access to model result and public observation data (2007) ;
- Interoperability of PREVIMER result database with other information systems (OpenGIS, OpenDAP, ...).
