Programme
The OCO conference 2008 will focus on two main themes:
- the presentation of Research and Development results obtained in the development of information systems, numerical models, in situ measurement systems, new functionalities and diffusion tools;
- the description of products and services existing on marine development, the expression of needs as well as questions related to economics and organisation.
Four sessions will be proposed:
First day : systems development
- Session S1 – observation: recent developments of in situ and remote sensing measurement systems, data management systems, diffusion tools and web services;
- Session S2 – modelling: specific models and validation tools, processing homogenization, multisearch transfer (zooms, adaptation of discretisation), regional/coastal frontiers, validation metrics, data assimilation.
Second day : services and products
- Session S3 – presentation of operational oceanography services and products existing or under development in the following thematics: support to maritime public policies, state action at sea, fishing, recreational activities, maritime transport, public works, bathing water quality, follow of voluntary or accidental pollution, offshore installation security, etc…
- Session S4 – questions related to organisation of the production of information, economical model, relations between institutional and commercial activities, client interface.
